Hidden in the valley are many fields yielding organic produce year-round; oranges, figs, lemons, berries, apricots, pomegranates & more, all of which can be found in the Roula’s Kitchen at the appropriate season.
The villa is of traditional design & built in natural materials, stone & wood, the thickness of the walls affording natural air-conditioning. The walls are plastered inside & out in the traditional manner with render sourced from the Maheri Valley, taking on soft pink tones of red soil of Crete.

The villa is situated below the central area of Kamares Houses, & is approached through a stone arch leading to the well stocked garden, a patio, & the front door. Inside is a large living area floored with cypress wood obtained from the family of Costas Kyparissona. In keeping with the traditional theme, the living room has a fireplace & other features, including traditional woven curtains, which maintain the authentic feel.
Off the living room is the kitchen complete with marble sink & modern appliances.
From the kitchen windows are lovely views to the sea & across the valley.
Leading from the living room is a covered balcony paved in white marble, overlooking the rear garden & pool, ideal for your breakfast coffee, with its views across the wooded valley.

A few steps down from the living room is the 2nd level & the guest bedroom with en-suite bathroom.
The bedroom maintains the tradition ambiance with two antique iron beds, handmade curtains & sympathetic colour scheme,
The bathroom, fitted with a shower, has hand painted tiles, stone shelves & a large cypress wood wardrobe.
A few more steps down gives on to the very large master bedroom, paved in Cretan white marble, complete with corner fireplace & double bed, wardrobe, & furniture all built out of cypress wood.
A short hall leads to a large bathroom with bath & shower, & marble bench.
Off the same hall is a double glass & iron door, made by Kostas, which leads to a covered terrace & the rear garden & pool. The terrace, stone built & with a large handmade eucalyptus wood table, is a peaceful, relaxing place to contemplate the garden & the views.
